We all think, “I’ll just adopt healthy eating habits” or “I’m going to start eating right.” But what does that really mean? What is your plan to make this happen? For example, there’s a lot of buzz lately about ‘healthy fats.’ Personally, I LOVE healthy fat. Avocado, peanut butter, almonds, coconut, dark (we’re talking 90%) chocolate; the list goes on and on and I love it all and could eat it all day long. And it’s healthy, right…?! Right? Well, at some point the calories add up, I’m so full on fat I don’t eat other healthful things, and suddenly I’m negating all the hard work that I’ve put into my healthy lifestyle. But I don’t need to cut it out completely; the right fats can be SO beneficial, if used properly.
Fat is just a personal example, but there are so many nutritious foods out there that have to be delicately balanced between contributing to your healthy lifestyle, or being detrimental to it.
